September was jam-packed full of events here at Mullica Gardens! Here’s a quick overview of what our residents enjoyed.

Mullica Gardens kicked off National Assisted Living Week with a lovely Grandparent’s day social. Families were invited to our community to spend time with their loved ones and enjoyed light refreshments.

Our special event planned for Monday was a big prize, Bingo! The residents loved all donated prizes. We want to thank all those responsible for the beautiful donations: Caring Hospice, Compassionate Care Hospice, Fox Rehab, Moorestown VNA, Bayada, Scotts Counsel, Berkshire Hathaway-Laura Castellucci, etc..

Ready for Fall? Yes, we are! For today’s activity, our residents had a great time during their Sip and Paint! In the traditional community, we painted pumpkins in the night sky with our Activities Director Sabrina leading the class. In our memory care community, we painted abstract art with the Activities assistant Laura leading the class. While painting, the residents sipped chilled wine and delicious apple cider.

Today we took a moment of silence to remember all those we lost 18 years ago on this day. Residents discussed where they were and what they were doing while this terrible event took place in our country. Our hearts will always go out to the families who were affected by this disaster. In pursuit of uplifting our residents, we enjoyed singing along with Rachel DeMasi, a fantastic entertainer who sings show tunes! Our residents truly enjoyed Rachel’s performance.

Party time! Mullica Gardens staff worked alongside our excellent Fox Rehab staff to plan a creative arts party. There were light refreshments made by our Activities Department. We enjoyed several game stations such as Twister, Popcorn Parachute, Corn hole, Scavenger Hunt and one of our favorites – the water balloon toss. Caring Hospice, Fox Rehab, and Scotts Counsel were on site this particular day discussing care needs information for residents as well as family members. They were able to answer questions concerning services each organization provides for seniors and family members.

As National Assisted Living Week came to an end, our residents, family members, and staff treated themselves to delicious Italian water ice! The water ice truck stopped by with assorted flavors for everyone! We decided to take a poll on our favorites: Strawberry-Lemon and Creamsicle were most popular!
